This week we were tasked with experimenting with custom and preset white balance settings. Here are my 4 favourite images from the exercise.

All images taken at 1/50 shutter speed at f5.7 aperture.

Preset White Balance - Flash

I like this image as it changes little to the default white balance other than enhancing colour in the image to counter-act what would be a flash.

Custom Preset - Taken from all-white image

This from the custom preset created from the white sheet I used, a blue hue has been cast on the whole image. In my opinion this enhances the purple background lighting and the blue/purple colours on the subject.

Custom Colour Profile - WB - A9, M9

Using a purple/red colour profile on this image brings out the colour in the background of the image whilst maintaining colour clarity in the subject. I think this is very effective.

Colour Cast - Photoshop - Temperature 3450, Tint -150

Using the colour cast feature on Photoshop I managed to create a colour profile that I think gives a different vibe to the image. The blue lighting in the background contrasts the green hue to the image nicely.
