This week we learned how to correctly use different auto-focus settings on our cameras, and were subsequently tasked with taking images using these different settings. Here are my 5 favourite images!

1/50 f5.6 Standard

I like this image because of its simplicity. There is a sharp contrast between the reflection of the sky on the subject and the dark, softly coloured background. The basic auto-focus works well here.

1/125 f5.6 Centre-Point

I like how the centre-point auto-focus works in the image. There is detail within the background bokeh but also quite a lot of detail within the subject. The DOF from the stems in the center I feel adds nice detail to the image.

1/50 f5.6 Al-Servo

Using the Al-Servo mode I was able to capture this washing line rope, I like the strong bokeh in the background with the rope giving a streak of detail through the image.

1/50 f5.6 Live-View AF Point

I love this image. Making use of left-weighted AF I captured this image of a garden ornament. I love the DOF in this image with most of the colour and clarity in the image on the left.

1/4 f5.6 Live-View AF Point

Using left-weighted AF again I captured this image. I love the vibrancy of the RGB lighting around the background that reflects off the strands of fabric in the subject.
